Uninstalling Outlook 2007 Beta 2 And Reinstalling Outollok 2003

When you perform the actions to uninstall Outlook 2007 and then trying to reinstall your Outlook 2003 then running Outlook 2003 you will get the following typical error message: "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Mapi32.dll is corrupt or the wrong version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging software. Please reinstall Outlook."

To fix this problem I did the following:

1. I navigated to the C:\Windows\System32\ folder
2. I renamed MAPI32.dll to something else like MAPI_Old.dll
3. I ran C:\Windows\System32\FIXMAPI.exe
4. Restarted Windows XP Pro SP2.
5. Problem was resolved.
